19 FEBURARY 2020
Yesterday I got back from the Laser World Championships, held in Melbourne, Australia, over the past two weeks.
As expected the competition was intense, with 130 of the best sailors around the world battling for every centimetre across the race course. It was a pretty breezy week all round so the old legs were pretty worn out by the end of 5 days of gruelling racing!
In the end I managed to finish 64th overall, and whilst I am a tad disappointed, the result is a small but solid step forwards into building up my performance for the upcoming summer events.
Aside from the jet lag the rest of the experience was amazing, with top quality race management, weather and general organisation. Melbourne was also an incredibly friendly place - I would love to go back one day to properly explore as a tourist.
Big thanks to everyone who helped me get out here to compete at the worlds, notably my parents and sponsors! Thanks guys.
